Sommelier and Owner, Mark Cartland
Creative Wine Solutions, LLC was founded in 2010 as a full-service restaurant consulting group to provide wine education and sommelier services to the hospitality industry. It is owned and operated by Mark Cartland, a Certified Sommelier since 2009. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality business and has worked in nationally-acclaimed restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, including The Slanted Door, winner of the James Beard Outstanding Restaurant Award in 2014. Mark was also named as a Leading Sommelier of San Francisco, by the international Beverage Trade Network in 2018.
In 2019, Creative Wine Solutions relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to Honolulu, Hawai'i. In its new home, Creative Wine Solutions has expanded its offerings to include sommelier-guided wine tastings to corporate groups and individuals. Mark is also currently serving as the Wine Director of Island Vintage Wine Bar in Honolulu, Hawai'i, winner of USA Today’s 10 Best New Restaurants in the USA 2020. Mark’s wine list has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the last four years, beginning in 2020 through 2023.
